I love the Caribbean. I was fortunate to have parents that would take the family there. They would pull us from school and take the whole brood down to the various islands for brief vacations to escape the long, cold Wisconsin winters.
When I started flying for a living, I was also fortunate to occasionally get a flight there and actually get paid.
It wasn’t long before I was spending more time there and then started chartering bareboats in the BVI’s. Then the Grenadines, the French West Indies and of course St Martin.
This led to buying my own boat which I based in Oyster Pond, St. Martin. My airline job offered such flexibility that I was able to spend the bulk of the winters on the Friendly Island.
I’ve always thought that my experiences there, plus a liberal amount of fantasy, would provide plenty of material to write about.
I’ve finally gotten around to doing just that and I hope you enjoy my efforts.
